The event was headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Property Committee Mr. Aziz Abdukhakimov and Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP Uzbekistan Ms. Kyoko Postill.
In November 2008, UNDP Uzbekistan and the State Property Committee launched the project aimed at promoting further development of valuation activity in Uzbekistan to complement the economic reforms in the country.
Major outputs of the project are four important documents: the concept of development of valuation activity in Uzbekistan for three years 2010-2012, and the three national valuation standards with corresponding methodological guidelines - on real estate appraisal, on business valuation, and on valuation for privatization purposes.
To ensure the effective implementation of the project professional literature was donated and presented to the project teams and the State Property Committee for further use during the project implementation and afterwards.
Additionally, office printing and copying equipment was donated to facilitate the work of the project teams. The official ceremony continued with the presentations of the four project teams working on the aforementioned national standards and the concept note.
In fact, the event follows the visit of the international consultant working with the national experts on the concept note. During his first visit to Uzbekistan the international consultant (Mr. Aivar Tomson) had met with the team and national stakeholders earlier the same week. His next visit is planned in early April 2009.
