Preparations for the Asian Youth Games "Tashkent-2025" discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In his Address to the Youth Forum and the Oliy Majlis in December 2020, the President of Uzbekistan especially emphasized the holding of the Asian Youth Games 2025 in Tashkent.

The head of our state instructed the relevant organizations to hold this complex competition at a high level and prepare for it at the proper level. An event dedicated to the organizational issues of the IV Youth Asian Games was held today at the Tashkent city khokimiyat, with the participation of officials from the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the city khokimiyat, the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and the National Olympic Committee.

The meeting was attended by the khokim of the city of Tashkent Jahongir Artikkhujaev, a responsible employee of the Cabinet of Ministers Rashid Tolipov, Chairman of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, First Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Ravshan Irmatov, General Secretary of the NOC, Director of the Tashkent-2025 Directorate Oybek Kasymov and others.

At the event, officials of the Ministry and the Committee informed about the current state of existing sports facilities in Tashkent, as well as which of them can host future competitions and for which sports it is worth building appropriate facilities. The agenda also included issues related to the program of the Asian Games "Tashkent-2025" and what kinds of sports will be included there, and other organizational issues.

It should be noted that prestigious tournaments of continental and world scale were held in our country, but we will host large complex competitions for the first time. And this, as our esteemed President noted, is a good opportunity to demonstrate to the world community the potential and capabilities of New Uzbekistan. During the meeting, government representatives mentioned that they are ready to provide support on organizational issues and that the state pays great attention to this large project.

We remind you that at the General Assembly of the Asian Olympic Council, held on 16-17 December 2020 in Muscat (Oman), it was officially announced that Tashkent will host the Asian Youth Games 2025.
