Prague hosts briefing on cooperation in tourism
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Prague hosted a briefing on establishing long-term cooperation with tour operators and agencies of Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic, as well as assisting to increase tourists’ inflow in to Uzbekistan.

Jahon reported that managers of tour operators and companies, members of Czech tourism firms association and the Czech-Uzbek trade industrial chamber participated at the event.

Participants noted that importance of such events for expanding contacts with the Uzbek partners and strengthening of economic cooperation between the Czech Republic and Uzbekistan. Tourism is one of the most perspective spheres.

Rich historic and cultural potential of the country turns Uzbekistan to one of the regional leaders in tourism. Neighboring countries of the Central Asia should help Uzbekistan to increase tourism inflow into Uzbekistan and they will also gain from this.

Czech tour operators believe that Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic has enough potential, which should be used to attract tourists in both directions. They noted launch of air communication between Prague and Tashkent allowed some tour companies to add tourism routes around Uzbekistan to their catalogue for 2010-2011.

During the briefing, the Czech tour operators familiarized with opportunity of tourism potential and development of the sector in Uzbekistan, as well as measures of the Government in development of the sector. They also got acquainted with preparation to Tashkent International Tourism Fair on 7-8 October and the session of national tourism administration of the UNWTO in Samarkand on 8-9 October.

The Czech side said the delegation of Czech tour operators will visit Uzbekistan to establish ties with local companies and studying tourism opportunities in Uzbekistan.

During the briefing, the sides discussed issues on simplifying visa regime for tourists and development of cooperation in tourism sector.
