Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Chairperson of the Republican Commission on Improving the Role of Women in Society, Gender Equality and Family Tanzila Narbaeva, who is on a working visit to New York, met with the Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Women’s Affairs and the Encia Khazali family.

It is known that relations between Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, especially trade, economic and political dialogue, are consistently developing.

During the meeting, current issues of developing bilateral cooperation and expanding partnerships within international structures were discussed.

It was especially noted that active interaction at the highest level, as well as between the governments and parliaments of the two states, creates an important platform for cooperation between women of our countries.

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, the prospects for uniting, on the basis of joint projects, efforts to establish connections between women’s organizations, increase their participation in socio-economic, political, legal, cultural and educational life, and strengthen their social status in society were considered.

In particular, an agreement was reached on cooperation between scientific institutions on the study of family and women’s problems, as well as on the development and implementation of exchange programs for students of leading higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Iran.
