Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Eight people were killed in a traffic accident that occurred on the evening of 22 July in Kungrad District of Karakalpakstan.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karakalpakstan, a 30-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Lacetti, M. N., crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a Cobalt driven by 23-year-old U. D.

Following the collision, the Chevrolet Lacetti caught fire. Both drivers and a 38-year-old passenger in the Lacetti died at the scene.

Additionally, five other people, including a 49-year-old passenger in the Lacetti and passengers in the Cobalt aged 31, 27, 53, and 30, succumbed to their injuries at the district medical facility where they were hospitalized.
