Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 July 2024, Uzbekistan’s tax authorities have registered 442,963 rental agreements for real estate. This was reported by the Tax Committee.

Of these, based on over 312,600 rental agreements concluded by individuals, 247.5 billion soums in income tax have been assessed.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of registered rental agreements has increased by 37.1%, and the amount of assessed tax has risen by 46%.

Based on more than 130,200 rental agreements concluded by legal entities, 92.8 billion soums in taxes have been assessed. Compared to the same period last year, the number of registered rental agreements has increased by 45.7%, and the amount of assessed taxes has risen by 50.1%.

Additionally, 71,200 rental agreements for student housing have been registered, with a total of 108,122 students as tenants.

Property owners renting housing to students are exempt from paying income tax on such rental income, which amounted to 39.7 billion soums in benefits.
