Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A citizen was detained at Tashkent Airport while attempting to smuggle four gold ingots out of the country.

According to the press service of "Tashkent-Aero," on July 17 at approximately 08:45, the airport’s border and customs service conducted an inspection of the hand luggage of a passenger traveling from Tashkent to Delhi.

During the inspection, four round-shaped gold ingots with a total weight of 99 grams were discovered in the passenger’s bag. The seized gold is valued at 100 million soums.

An investigation is underway regarding this incident.
