Pistachio plantations to be established in Kashkadarya region based on iranian experience

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Pistachio plantations are set to be established in Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, drawing on Iranian expertise.

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Iran Fariddin Nasriyev, Sherzod Shakirov, the khokim of the Dehkanabad district, and Iranian businessman and pistachio cultivation expert Javad Heydarpur held online negotiations, reports Dunyo IA.

The meeting focused on a project to create pistachio plantations in the Dehkanabad district. The Iranian side was provided with information about the district’s commercial, economic, and social potential, its geographical location, transportation infrastructure, and incentives and opportunities for investors. A project for pistachio cultivation in this region was proposed.

The Iranian side also shared its experience in this field.

It is noteworthy that Kerman, represented by the Iranian businessman, as well as the cities of Rafsanjan, Sirjan, Shahrebabak, Zarand, Anar, and Ravar in the Kerman province of Iran, are major centers of pistachio production. These cities collectively harvest around 200,000 tons of pistachios annually, with 10% going to the domestic market and 90% being exported.

The Iranian businessman has been invited to the Dehkanabad district for detailed project negotiations and to inspect potential areas for implementation.

The Iranian side has expressed readiness for collaboration and plans to visit the Kashkadarya region soon.
