Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai on 11 June.

Katherine Tai conveyed greetings and best wishes from US President Joe Biden to the President of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed important issues related to the further strengthening of bilateral strategic partnership relations, as well as the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation.

The sides noted the intensification of business contacts and the stable growth in mutual trade turnover and investment.

Cooperation ties are developing with leading US enterprises and banks, such as Air Products, Coca-Cola, Citibank, Visa and many others.

In addition, the parties discussed issues related to Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO. The issues of resumption of the GSP system, deepening practical interaction within the framework of the C5+1 format and the Framework Agreement on Trade and Investment were also considered.

The parties noted the importance of creating joint platforms that will help identify new sectors for cooperation and promote industrial cooperation projects.
