Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 May, a meeting was held between the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov and members of the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmus.

The meeting noted the further development and deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation, which was the result of the political will of the Presidents of the two countries and a long-term strategy. 

Issues about intensifying political dialogue, expanding partnerships in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed, and achievements in the field of reforms and implementation of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy were highlighted.

The parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen inter-parliamentary relations and discussed plans to develop cooperation. We emphasized the importance of regular meetings and consultations to enrich interaction in various areas, including legislation.

Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmus noted the importance of cooperation between the two countries and expressed the readiness of the parliaments to actively participate in deepening and expanding relations.

“We, representatives of the parliament, will also actively participate in bringing bilateral and multilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye to a new level in trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, scientific, educational, tourism and other fields. Today’s meeting is of great importance in the development of inter-parliamentary relations,” said Numan Kurtulmus.

At the meeting, a decision was made to further strengthen cooperation.
