Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first official EU-Central Asia summit will be held in Samarkand, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva said.

“Yesterday we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union. Every year our relations become more and more dynamic and widespread in various fields,” she noted.

Mirziyoyeva emphasized that the EU provides significant support to large-scale reforms and creative processes in Uzbekistan aimed at improving the well-being of the country's population.

“We plan to create another platform for cooperation in the near future,” she added.

Saida Mirziyoyeva noted that the first official EU-Central Asia summit will be held in Samarkand.

According to her, the summit will open a new chapter in friendly relations between the two sides.
