Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan in China presented a presentation of investment, export and tourism opportunities of our country in Hong Kong, a major financial center of the PRC, Dunyo news agency reports.

The event was attended by representatives of the Hong Kong administration and the Trade Development Council, about 200 companies, trade, economic, tourism associations and banks in the region.

The audience was told about the large-scale reforms being implemented today in Uzbekistan and the opportunities created for investors. Also at the event, an exchange of views took place on the country’s tourism potential and prospects for the development of cooperation in this area.

Businessmen from Hong Kong showed great interest in visiting Uzbekistan, in particular, participating in the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held on 2-3 May.

Representatives of Chinese business who spoke at the event noted that they welcome the policy of openness and progressive reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan. In their opinion, as a result of these changes, new opportunities for the rapid development of our country appear. They expressed interest in investing in the economy of Uzbekistan and implementing mutually beneficial business projects.

Hong Kong is one of China’s largest financial centers with a population of 7.5 million people. In 2023, the GDP was US$383 billion. Hong Kong is one of the world’s leading exporters of textiles, clothing, electronic devices, components, watches, toys and other goods. Today, the services sector accounts for more than 90 percent of Hong Kong’s GDP.
