Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with President and CEO of Petronas Tengku Muhammad Taufik.

The parties paid special attention to strengthening cooperation in various areas: from building human resources to developing the oil and chemical industries.

“We hope to deepen interaction and introduce the company’s best practices into the economy of Uzbekistan,” noted Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The minister also took part in the first Uzbek-Malaysian business forum held in Kuala Lumpur.

“We are glad to see the heads of leading companies and financial institutions in Malaysia - our friends, who have expressed a desire to cooperate with Uzbekistan. We greatly appreciate the support of Kuala Lumpur Mayor Kamarulzaman bin Mat Salleh. We are confident that today’s business forum will allow us to determine the main directions of our further mutual cooperation,” said the head of the Foreign Ministry.
