Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan have identified a connection between the former khokim of Gulistan district and the illegal sale of a land plot for US$300,000, the press service of the State Security Service (SSS) said in a statement.
Two people from Gulistan promised a citizen who wanted to start a business the allocation of 38 acres of land from the reserve of the khokimiyat of Gulistan district.
They also promised to prepare the necessary documents for the construction of a multi-storey residential building. For this they demanded US$300,000.
State Security Service officers detained them while receiving an advance payment of US$50,000.
As a result of the pre-investigation check, it turned out that the former khokim of Gulistan district, who worked in 2018-2021, was also involved in this illegal case.
