Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov will undertake an Official Visit to Malaysia from 27 to 28 February 2024. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
While in Malaysia, Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov will pay a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan.
Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Yang di-Pertua Dewan Rakyat Tan Sri Dato’ Johari bin Abdul.
Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov’s visit to Malaysia also coincides with the first Uzbek Business Forum in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysian Foreign Ministry said that this visit is an opportunity for both sides to discuss and exchange views on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest. This visit will also further strengthen ties between the two countries, encompassing various areas of cooperation.
In 2023, the Republic of Uzbekistan became Malaysia’s second largest trading partner in the Central Asian region. The total trade between Malaysia and Republic of Uzbekistan was valued at US$94.03 million, an increase of 30.9% percent from 2022.
