Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The cotton-textile clusters BCT Cluster Agrocomplex in Bukhara region and TST Agro Cluster in Tashkent region received a special license from the international organization Better Cotton Initiative.
This confirms that raw cotton grown in clusters is internationally recognized as environmentally friendly.
Better Cotton operates in 26 countries around the world, with more than 330 brands and 3,000 retailers as members. The fact that they have committed to purchasing cotton grown under the Improved Cotton Program is an opportunity for the cluster and farmers.
Obtaining a BCI license is not easy. To do this, it is necessary to fully implement environmental and social responsibility at all stages from the extraction of raw materials to its deep processing in clusters.
The clusters fully comply with these principles, being active participants in this program since 2020.
