Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order on the opening of the Russian Consulate General in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
“Open a general consulate of the Russian Federation in the city of Samarkand (Republic of Uzbekistan),” the order says.
According to the document, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is instructed to determine the staffing level and approve the staffing schedule of the Consulate General.
Earlier it was reported that Russia plans to open a consulate general in Samarkand in 2024.
By opening a consulate in Samarkand, Russia plans to facilitate its citizens’ access to consular services, given the presence of a large number of Russian compatriots in the city and its surroundings.
