Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The participation of Uzbek weightlifters in the home continental championship continues. Today, on the last day of the championship, athletes in the heavyweight category entered the fight for medals. At these moments, weightlifters performing in the -109 kg and +109 kg weights are taking place.

It is noteworthy that one of the young representatives of the Uzbekistan national team, Sharofiddin Amriddinov (-109 kg), was ahead of the record holder and champion of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Ruslan Nurudinov in the snatch exercise. 

Amriddinov managed to lift 176 kg and win a gold medal. Nurudinov, with a result of 175 kg, received a silver award.
