Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Asian Weightlifting Championship in Tashkent began successfully for the Uzbekistan team. Sarvarbek Zafarjonov, who competed in the -89 kg weight category among men, received two awards at once: gold and silver.

In the snatch exercise, Zafarjonov achieved a result of 167 kg and won a gold medal. Also, having gained a total of 362 kg, our weightlifter managed to take second place.

Weightlifter from Uzbekistan Sunnatilla Usarov won three medals at the Asian Championships.

In the snatch, Usarov managed to lift 161 kg, and in the clean and jerk 185 kg. Based on the results of the double event, the athlete set the figure at 346 kg. Thanks to these results, Sunatilla Usarov was awarded three silver medals.

In the weight category up to 81 kg, our compatriot Rigina Adashbaeva won 3 silver awards.

The athlete was able to lift the barbell in the snatch with a weight of 107 kg, in the clean and jerk - 136 kg and the sum of the two exercises - 243 kg.

After today’s effective performances of Uzbek athletes, the number of awards in the Uzbekistan national team at the home continental championship reached 11 (1 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze).
