Uzbekistan and the IMF discuss issues of improving tax administration

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan with representatives of the fiscal department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where issues of improving tax administration were discussed.

The meeting was attended by employees of the Ministry under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ahadbek Khaidarov, as well as representatives of the IMF mission led by Vincent de Paul Kukpayzan.

During the meeting, the results of the final report of the Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool (TADAT), prepared by the IMF mission led by Vincent de Paul Kukpayzan, which visited Uzbekistan in July of this year, were discussed. The reforms implemented in the field of the tax system and administration of Uzbekistan in recent years, as well as the results achieved, were especially noted.

The TADAT (Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool) tool is designed to objectively assess the main components of a country's tax administration.

The parties also discussed the possible attraction of IMF technical assistance to improve tax policy and administration, including reducing the shadow economy, managing tax risks, regulating tax disputes and improving other aspects of tax systems.

The parties agreed to hold an additional meeting to discuss the results of further research of the mission.
