About 2 million people to be involved in entrepreneurship in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to attract 2 million people to entrepreneurship in 2024. This is envisaged by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On additional measures for the broad involvement of the population in small and medium-sized businesses.”

To attract the population to business, various trainings will be organized. Also, public projects receive support. This will create a chain of “family entrepreneur – microbusiness – small business – medium business”.

Small and medium-sized business projects receive financial support on the basis of an integrated financial system consisting of the Business Development Bank, Entrepreneurship Development Company JSC and other commercial partner banks.

The Business Development Bank will be responsible for creating and expanding the activities of 150,000 small entrepreneurs; for this purpose, US$1.2 billion will be raised from international financial organizations and Eurobonds will be issued for US$300 million.

The entrepreneurship development company will be responsible for increasing average businesses by 2.5 times (from 10 thousand to 25 thousand). To achieve this, financial services will be increased from 8 trillion soums to 14 trillion soums. Eurobonds for US$300 million will be issued.
