The initiative of President of Uzbekistan was promoted at the regular UNWTO conference
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) together with the Government of San Marino is holding the UNWTO International Conference on Barrier-Free Tourism on November 16-17 this year on the theme: "Tourism for All: Destinations, Enterprises and Enhancing People's Comfort".
The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Chairman of the Committee on Tourism Umid Shadiev is taking part in the conference, where representatives of the tourism sector from more than 30 countries are taking part.
In his speech, Umid Shadiev mentioned the proposals put forward by the President of our country during the 25th session of the UNWTO General Assembly, including the development of the Global Code of Safe Tourism within the UN and the development of inclusive tourism infrastructure within the UNWTO once again put forward the initiative to declare 2025 the "Year of Inclusive Tourism" and adopt a special declaration.
Detailed information was also provided on the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of tourism, in particular, on barrier-free tourism: the program "Barrier-Free Tourism" and the project "Journey for All!".
Within the framework of the event it is planned to hold a number of bilateral meetings in order to further strengthen ties in the field of tourism, to learn best practices in the direction of barrier-free tourism from countries with developed tourism industry and joint development of projects in this area in Uzbekistan, as well as to further increase tourist flow from major tourist markets to our country.
