Exhibition project Tashkent: Appropriating Modernism opened in Sharjah

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The exhibition project Tashkent: Appropriating Modernism was opened at the international exhibition Sharjah Triennial 2023. It is part of the Tashkent Modernism XX/XXI research project. This was reported by the press service of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan.

The pavilion of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan displays models of the buildings of the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Samarkand teahouse and the Zarafshan restaurant. In the gallery, visitors can see architectural fragments of three buildings on a 1:2 scale.

Thanks to the Tashkent: Appropriating Modernism project, the relationship between modernism and architectural traditions in Uzbekistan becomes clear.

The exhibition is open until 10 March 2024.
