Crime boss Kolya-Kyrgyz killed in Kyrgyzstan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Kyrgyzstan, local crime boss Kamchi Kolbaev (Kamchybek Asanbek), known in international criminal circles as Kolya-Kyrgyz, was killed during his arrest on Wednesday. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the operational search activities, the location of Kamchybek Asanbek was established in the Blonder Pub restaurant, where a group of special forces soldiers went to detain him. Having not obeyed the demands of the security service officers to surrender to the authorities, he offered armed resistance using firearms.
“Employees of the special unit of the State Committee for National Security opened fire in response to the defeat,” the message says.
Later, doctors confirmed Asanbek’s death. There were no casualties among SCNS employees or civilians.
As part of the ongoing work, a number of criminal cases are being investigated against active members of organized criminal groups and their leaders on facts of illegal seizure of property of entrepreneurs on a particularly large scale, the statement says.
