Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The fact that damage caused to residents’ homes as a result of an emergency in Sergeli district is being compensated at the expense of the state is causing various disputes on social networks.
“It takes a lot of time to identify those responsible for the damage caused by the fire and to carry out investigative actions. Article 23 of our Constitution states that the state guarantees protection and patronage to its citizens. Therefore, until the completion of the investigation and trial, the funds necessary for repairs were taken from the reserve fund,” said the Prime Minister’s press secretary Bekzod Khidoyatov.
After completion of the investigation and trial, every penny used from the reserve for repairs will be recovered from the culprits through the court, the message says.
The blast wave damaged more than five thousand apartments, 50 apartment buildings, 8 offices, a school, two kindergartens and 25 residential courtyards were damaged. The Tashkent khokimiyat promised to restore the houses in the near future.
Earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered the creation of a government commission to investigate the explosion in Tashkent. The Deputy Prime Minister will oversee the investigation into the warehouse explosion.
The incident occurred on 28 September in the Quruvchi makhalla in Sergeli district at the warehouse of the Inter Logistics company.
