Five more leather and footwear factories will receive LWG certificate
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Leather Working Group is a sign of global recognition and high quality. Leather companies that have achieved this international standard can confidently find partners in any market in the world. Leather and footwear enterprises in Uzbekistan began working on obtaining this certificate last year. The Orient Technology industry cluster, located in Karakalpakstan, became the first to succeed.
Chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat Association Fakhriddin Boboev took part in the annual meeting of the European regional office of the Leather Working Group, held as part of international exhibitions in Milan, Italy. The Uzbek side presented the work carried out by Uzcharmsanoat in terms of modernizing facilities, ensuring the completeness of the production cycle, labeling and introducing green technologies at enterprises.
As noted, it is impossible to fully introduce “green” technologies into the industry in just one year. But the amount of work done in such a short time received special attention from experts. Thanks to constant technical support, the leather industry of Uzbekistan meets international standards in the field of environmental protection, so another 5 Uzbek enterprises will soon receive a certificate from the organization. Occupational safety conditions at all enterprises that have received an LWG certificate will be constantly monitored.
