Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 September, the first meeting of the working group on the transport corridor “Tajikistan – Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Turkey” was held in Dushanbe.
The meeting of the working group, held under the leadership of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), was attended by specialists from the Center for the Study of Problems of Transport and Logistics Development, the Ministry of Transport reports.
In accordance with the Ankara Declaration, adopted at the 11th meeting of the ministers of transport of the ECO member states, an agreement was reached on the development of a project program for the development of the multimodal transport corridor “Tajikistan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Iran-Turkey”.
During the meeting, issues of increasing cargo transportation and simplifying trade procedures, in particular the development and stimulation of international transit for landlocked countries, were also discussed.
