Prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Israel in the agricultural sector were discussed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan Feruza Makhmudova met with the Minister of Agriculture and Regional Development of Israel Avi Dichter, Dunyo news agency reported.
During the negotiations, current issues and the agenda of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture were discussed.
The Minister highly appreciated the international conference on food security held on 7-8 September in Samarkand by the government of Uzbekistan with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and its results.
He expressed satisfaction with the active dynamics of the current dialogue between the ministries of agriculture of the two countries. In accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed between the parties, an agreement was reached on organizing control over the processes of growing wheat in Uzbekistan, including on the basis of Israeli technologies.
In particular, the issue of a visit of Israeli specialists to Uzbekistan and the possibility of advanced training and internships in educational centers in Israel for Uzbek students are being considered.
The Israeli side also reported that it was interested in organizing a visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan at a time acceptable to the Uzbek side.
