Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of the Council of International Collaboration Institutes BM@N (Baryonic Matter at Nuclotron) was held at the Laboratory of High Energy Physics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna (Russia).

At this meeting, the director of the Physico-Technical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (PTI AN RUz), Professor Khusniddin Olimov, in his presentation, presented current research and the main results obtained in the field of high-energy physics at the institute. He especially emphasized that it would be very useful for scientists and young doctoral students of the Institute’s Laboratory of High Energy Physics to participate in experiments of the international collaboration BM@N.

Professor Bekhzod Yuldashev, a well-known scientist in the field of nuclear and elementary particle physics, academician of the Academies of Sciences of Uzbekistan and Russia, also took part in the meeting as a scientific consultant to a group of scientists from Uzbekistan. All members of the Council of BM@N Collaboration Institutes voted unanimously to accept the group of the Physicotechnical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of high energy physics under the leadership of Professor Khusniddin Olimov as a full member of the BM@N collaboration.

The head of the group, Khusniddin Olimov, joined the Council of BM@N collaboration institutes. Academician Bekhzod Yuldashev and Olimjon Tozhiboev from the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan also became part of the scientific group of the Physicotechnical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which became a member of the BM@N collaboration.

BM@N (Baryonic Matter at the Nuclotron) is the first experiment launched at the large accelerator complex “NICA-Nuclotron” of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna. The main goal of the BM@N experiment is to study the properties of dense baryonic matter formed during collisions of accelerated relativistic heavy ions with target nuclei. Such dense baryonic matter is very close in its properties to the dense matter of neutron stars. Members of the international collaboration BM@N are 13 scientific organizations and universities from 5 countries.

The participation of Uzbek scientists in such prestigious and large-scale international experiments allows us to further increase the prestige of Uzbek science in the world, and young Uzbek scientists and doctoral students to gain advanced modern knowledge, skills and experience in their fields of research.g
