President of Uzbekistan discusses plans to expand the activities of American business in our country

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 September, as part of a working visit to the United States, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Chairman of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm.

The meeting was also attended by executives from GE Healthcare, Oppenheimer, Cerberus, CNH and Cintana.

The leader of Uzbekistan congratulated the meeting participants on the 30th anniversary of the creation of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce, especially noting the key role of this structure in expanding bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.

The fruitful results of the joint business forum held on 15 September in Washington with the participation of representatives of more than 250 US companies and banks were noted with great satisfaction.

Chairman of the Chamber Carolyn Lamm expressed sincere gratitude to the head of our state for his political leadership in implementing a program of irreversible reforms in Uzbekistan, which contributes to the growing interest and trust of American business in the country. It was noted that over the past few years, the chamber has included the largest US companies, their total number has reached 50.

During the meeting, specific plans of American business to expand activities in our country were discussed.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on the adoption of “road maps” for the implementation of joint projects.
