Athletes from Uzbekistan arrived at the II Games of the CIS countries
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Athletes from Uzbekistan arrived at Minsk National Airport to take part in the II Games of the CIS countries, BelTA reported.
Athletes from Uzbekistan represent various sports. Boxers, athletes, gymnasts, handball players, judoists and other athletes arrived at the capital’s airport. Many of them note that they came to Belarus for the first time, and they have the highest expectations from the upcoming Games.
“I am in Belarus for the first time. If we talk about expectations from the Games, then our team came to win. Of course, we also want to see your country. The competition program is very rich, but I hope that we will have time to get to know Belarus,” said the representative of Uzbekistan Aisha Tairova.
“We still have a little time before the start of the competition, so we will prepare. You need to tune in a bit, - boxer Javokhir Ummataliev said. - I am sure that the competition will be held at the highest level. I have been to Minsk before and I really liked this city.”
Daria Zhilina, who will play for the Uzbek team at the athletics competition, noted the warm welcome at the airport. “We were very well received. True, it was a very long flight. This is my first time flying this far. It’s my first time in Belarus too. Haven’t seen anything yet, but I hope to see your country. Our team expects victory from the competition. We expect to perform well, ”the athlete shared her expectations from the competition.
Volunteers met the athletes at the airport. They helped the participants with accreditation and led them to the buses that would take the athletes to the competition venues.
