Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Iran have prepared a comprehensive plan to develop transport cooperation.

Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash held a meeting with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and Minister of Transport of the country Ilkhom Makhkamov in Tehran, IRNA reported.

"A draft agreement has been prepared on a comprehensive plan between the two countries in the field of transport," Bashrpas said, noting that there is a high potential for relations between the countries in the transport sector.

At the same time, he noted that the request of Uzbekistan to become a member of the Chabahar Agreement was accepted.

Saidov, in turn, said that the transport sector is the most promising for cooperation between the countries. “Given the opportunities and interest of the two countries, the volume of cargo transportation between Iran and Uzbekistan can increase significantly,” he stressed.
