Nodirbek Abdusattorov defeats Magnus Carlsen
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- One of the main meetings within the competitions of the 5th round of the Tata Steel Chess international tournament, held in the city of Wijk aan Zee in the Netherlands, took place between the reigning world champion in classical chess Magnus Carlsen and Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Abdusattorov.
The meeting, which took place for the first time between these chess players, was extremely difficult. Although Nodirbek played with black pieces, he still managed to force his opponent to go on the defensive.
Uzbekistan’s chess player, who already had a one-pawn advantage in the last game, finally achieved a victory over Carlsen and became the sole leader of the international tournament.
