Viacheslav Volodin: “Uzbekistan is wise enough to assess the likely consequences of cooperation with the United States”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The result of relations between the United States and its strategic partners in Europe has become an example for Uzbekistan in assessing the possible consequences of cooperation with Washington, Viacheslav Volodin noted. This was reported by the press service of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
“Wise, literate people live in Uzbekistan - they understand what these messages can lead to,” said the Chairman of the State Duma, commenting on the frequent visits of US representatives to the region.
Viacheslav Volodin noted that relations with the United States, which are more than strategic in nature, have brought economic problems to Europe. “For themselves, the Americans take energy resources at the same price, and for Europe they supply four times more expensive. But at the same time, they were drawn into sanctions wars against the Russian Federation, our programs were curtailed, which made it possible to use cheap energy, and it was precisely the foundation for the development of industry in Germany, France, and other states,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
According to him, now the heads of the EU states "finally began to recognize that it was Russian energy resources that were the basis of the well-being of Europeans, but it was the United States that initiated the fact that these resources stopped flowing to Europe, and they began to replace them with their expensive resources."
“We see the result. This is all understood by those who live in Asian countries, especially those who have always built relations with us on the principles of mutual respect, friendship and non-interference in internal affairs,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
Viacheslav Volodin also said that during the visit to Uzbekistan, "a very different range of issues was discussed: including topics such as common history, our traditional values, cultural issues."
"We have a lot in common. For us, for example, it is unacceptable that they are trying to impose in the sphere of relations, trying to destroy the family, to impose new values. Therefore, when the Americans come, of course, in sheep’s clothing, but the wolf grin is visible, because everyone understands who came,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
