A scammer, who promised citizens employment in Israel, was detained in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A scammer, who promised citizens employment in Israel, was detained in Samarkand.

A citizen of Samarkand district submitted an appeal to the police against a woman, who took from him US$14,100 from November 2019 to January 2021 for employment in Israel. But the woman did not send him to Israel and did not return money.

In this regard, the author of the application asked to take legal measures against this citizen. 

Another person also submitted a statement against the same woman. He claimed that the woman took US$10,000. He did not get job in Israel or returned the money.

According to these facts, the Investigation Department at the Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Samarkand initiated a criminal case under paragraphs "a, b" of part 3 of article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As part of the criminal case, the reasons for the commission of the crime will be studied and a legal assessment will be provided.

An investigation is currently underway.
