A meeting of the heads of emergency departments of Central Asian takes place in Dushanbe

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 6 October, the Regional Forum, a meeting of the heads of emergency departments of Central Asian countries, will end in the capital of Tajikistan.

 A delegation from Uzbekistan, headed by the Minister for Emergency Situations Abdulla Kuldashev, also takes part in the annual event. Within the framework of the forum, a number of events took place - breakout sessions, meetings of expert groups, reports of the heads of foreign delegations.

During the meeting, experts discussed a package of proposals, the implementation of which will provide effective indicators in the prevention of transboundary emergencies. These are issues of strengthening regional and international cooperation, creating sustainable mechanisms for disaster risk reduction, and strengthening preparedness to respond to possible emergencies of a large-scale and transboundary nature.

Also, in the report of the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan A. Kuldashev, information was provided on the large-scale work carried out in our country to mitigate the consequences of the drying up of the Aral Sea.

On the final day of the forum, the heads of delegations met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction Ms. Mami Mizutori. The parties discussed issues of further interaction and implementation of new joint projects.
