Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Bakhtiyor Rakhmanov, First Deputy Khokim of Tashkent for Architecture, Capital Construction and Development of Communications, met with a delegation of the South Korean company Daewoo Construction Group, headed by Chairman of the Board of Directors Jeong Joon-won.
Bakhtiyor Rakhmanov said that today the South Korean companies Bomi Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. and Evergreen Motors Group are building large business centers in Tashkent City and Seoul Street; a number of other Korean companies operate in various fields.
On behalf of the khokimiyat of the city, the deputy khokim expressed satisfaction with the interest of Daewoo Construction Group in cooperation with the capital and presented one of the major projects planned for implementation in Tashkent. The project involves the construction of residential buildings, large shopping complexes, industrial and social facilities in the Yangikhayot and Bektemir districts of the capital. The guests were shown a video about the project and answered their questions.
For his part, Chairman of Daewoo Construction Group Jeong Joon-won thanked for the warm welcome. Separately, noting the processes of change and renewal in Tashkent and the hospitality of the people of Uzbekistan, he mentioned the closeness of the cultures of our peoples. Speaking about the large Smart City projects implemented by the company in the USA, Vietnam and the Philippines, Mr. Jeong Joon-won expressed interest in implementing the same large-scale project upon reaching an agreement with Tashkent and announced the readiness of other Korean companies to invest in the Uzbek market.
The parties announced the continuation of practical dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation.
