Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekneftegaz specialists visited the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) to exchange experience in the application of new well workover technologies and study the experience of SOCAR in the field of project implementation increase in hydrocarbon production on the terms of "risk service".

This visit was carried out in accordance with the Roadmap from 5 July 2022, developed in order to expand cooperation in the oil and gas sector between Uzbekneftegaz and SOCAR.

Members of the delegation of Uzbekneftegaz first held talks with SOCAR Vice President for Field Development Latifov Yashar Aydinovich and the management of SOCAR, at which issues of interest to the parties were discussed as part of the implementation of the Roadmap.

As part of the working visit program, the delegation of Uzbekneftegaz visited the SOCAR Upstream subsidiary, where they got acquainted with the experience of implementing projects to increase hydrocarbon production on the terms of "risk service" (RSC) and production sharing agreements (PSA).

Also, specialists of Uzbekneftegaz visited NIPI Neftegaz SOCAR, where they held talks with the director of the institute, Ismailov Fakhraddin Sattar oglu, and discussed issues of well workover and a presentation was made on downhole field equipment, which was developed at NIPI Neftegaz SOCAR" and successfully implemented in the fields of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the visit, the specialists also got acquainted with the activities of the operating companies "Binagadi Oil Company", "Salyan Oil Ltd." and Shirvan Operating Company LTD, where the results of the projects were presented, and on the same day they visited well No. 677 of the Kursyangi field, which was undergoing a major overhaul to restore the integrity of the production string.

In addition, the Uzbek delegation visited the Azneft Production Association, where presentations were made on workover planning, on methods for increasing oil and gas recovery and repair and insulation work. And at the pilot production base of NIPI Neftegaz SOCAR, the work being carried out was studied.

As a result of studying the experience of the SOCAR company, the specialists of Uzbekneftegaz JSC plan to conduct pilot field tests of the NIPI Neftegaz SOCAR water flow isolation technology at the wells of the Ustyurt GDU, in addition to Uzneftegazkuduktamirlash JSC with engineering and technical support from NIPI Neftegaz SOCAR, conducting pilot - field testing of sidetracking of wells using the technology of one-stage descent of a combined tool.

Taking into account the extensive experience of SOCAR in the implementation of PSA and RSC projects, it is planned to establish a channel for the exchange of experience for possible further implementation in Uzbekneftegaz JSC and invite SOCAR and GL Ltd. LLC to participate in competitive bidding to select a contractor to provide services to increase hydrocarbon production at 25 fields of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
