A delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in the Global Tourism Forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 September 2022, an Uzbek delegation based in Brussels, headed by Acting Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov, took part in the European Leaders Summit 2022 Global Tourism Forum organized by the World Tourism Forum Institute.
The event was attended by Secretary General of the World Tourism Forum Institute Taleb Rifai, President of the Institute Bulut Bagchi, deputies of the European Parliament, leading world politicians, representatives of the tourism industry, aviation authorities and transport companies.
During the forum, issues of introducing advanced knowledge and skills in order to promote the development of tourism, attract foreign direct investment in the tourism industry, promote and support the image of countries at the international level, develop a national tourism brand abroad, and others were discussed.
The delegation of Uzbekistan made a presentation on the topic “Investment, interconnectedness and hospitality”, which provided information on the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and the policy pursued in the country to support the tourism sector, which is one of the strategic sectors of the national economy.
Videos dedicated to the cultural heritage and tourism potential of Uzbekistan were shown.
During the forum, a high assessment was given to the efforts made in the republic to develop the tourism sector, promote the country's tourism potential, and turn it into one of the world's travel centers.
The participants of the event are invited to the EU-Central Asia Tourism Forum and the 25th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), which will be held in 2023 in Khiva and Samarkand.
