Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The project "Improvement of drinking water supply of Surkhandarya region through the use of water from the Tupalang reservoir" is being implemented.
The project envisages the construction of the main drinking water supply network with a length of 326.5 km, a complex of 22 water treatment facilities, 9 drinking water storage and distribution facilities in 8 districts. This was announced by the head of the information service of Uzsuvtaminot JSC Akmal Murodov.
In Kashkadarya region, the project “Improving the drinking water supply of the population of the Dekhkanabad district through the construction of the Oksuv-Dekhkanabad water pipeline” (cost 281.5 billion soums) is being implemented. The project stipulates the construction of a main drinking water pipeline with a length of 78.5 km, a water intake facility with a daily capacity of 10,800 m3 and 2 reservoirs with a capacity of 500 m3.
Construction and installation work within the framework of the project for the reconstruction of water treatment facilities "Kodiria" (cost US$12.3 million) in Tashkent region was completed by 99%. As a result of the implementation of this project, it is expected to provide 360,000 citizens living in Tashkent, Zangiata, Kibrai, Yangiyul and Chinaz regions with centralized drinking water.
