Finance Ministry hosts a meeting with representatives of Deutsche Bank

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 June, representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan met with representatives of Deutsche Bank.

The meeting was attended by Deutsche bank Managing Director, Head of the Lending Department of the London branch Gonzalo Barbon, Managing Director of investment banks Alexey Storchak, Director of the Lending Department of the London branch Zafar Zahidov, Head of the Deutsche Bank representative office in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Igor Wagner, and also from the Ministry of Finance, Director of the Department of Internal and External Debt Zhasur Karshibayev and Director of the Department of Macroeconomic and Fiscal Analysis Zuhriddin Ibragimov, headed by Deputy Finance Minister Odilbek Rustamov.

Detailed information was provided on the program of economic reforms, measures taken in relation to today's economic issues, as well as on GDP.

Opinions were also expressed on the dynamics of the budget, the state debt policy and the dynamics of external debt. In particular, they mentioned plans to increase the number of international bonds in the national currency in the future and link them all to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Over the past 2 years, Deutsche bank has allocated loans to banks and enterprises of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the amount of more than 700 million US dollars. In particular, loans allocated to Asaka Bank and the joint-stock company Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine, as well as a loan allocated for the first time in Central Asia to a private company Pepsi (LLC JV International Beverages Tashkent) for the implementation of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG).
