Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 January 2022, the resident population of the Republic of Uzbekistan reached 35.27 million people, an increase of 712,400 people or 2.1% compared to the previous year.
Accordingly, the number of women increased by 346,600 people or 2.0%, and the number of men increased by 365,700 people or 2.1%.
The number of births in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2021 increased by 63,400 people or, compared to 2020, by 7.5%, the number of deaths decreased by 1,100 people, or, compared to 2020, by 0.6%.
The number of registered marriages increased by 8,300 people, or compared to 2020, by 2.8%, and the number of divorces increased by 11,000 people, or by 39.0%.
As of 1 January 2022, the resident population of the republic consisted of children under working age - 31.2%, of working age - 57.6% and people older than working age - 11.2%.
As of 1 January 2022, the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan was 78.6 people per square kilometer. This 1.6 more people compared to the same period in 2021 (77.0 people per 1 sq. km at the beginning of 2021).
In terms of regions, the highest population density is 8 035.1 people in Tashkent city, 756.6 – Andijan region, 576.4 – Ferghana region, 394.0 – Namangan region, 240.4 – Samarkand region, the lowest rates were recorded in Navoi regions – 9.3, the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 11.7, Bukhara region – 49.1, Jizzakh region – 68.1 and Kashkadarya region – 119.3.
In January-December 2021, 905.2 thousand births were registered, respectively, the birth rate per 1000 population was 25.9 ppm and, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 1.3 ppm (for 2020 – 24.6 ppm).
It should be noted that in 2021, 16.9% of babies were born to fathers with higher education, and only 9.6% to mothers.
In January-December 2021, 174.5 thousand deaths were registered, the mortality rate per 1000 population was 5.0 ppm, in January-December 2020 it was 5.1 ppm.
Of the total number of registered deaths in January-December 2021, 61.7% are due to diseases of the circulatory system, 7.8% - neoplasms, 6.7% - respiratory diseases, 5.2% - accidents, poisoning and injuries, 4.1% - diseases of the digestive system, 3.1% - infectious and parasitic diseases and 11.4% - other diseases.
In the age groups for January-December 2021, 7,7% of the deaths were among young people under 20 years old, 6.5% - among persons aged 20-39 years, 21.1% - among persons aged 40-59 years, and for 60 years and older – 64.7%.
In January-December 2021, 305.1 thousand marriages were registered, the marriage rate per 1 000 people was 8.7 ppm, which is 0.07 ppm more than the corresponding period last year.
In marriages registered in January-December 2021, 19.1% of married men had higher education, 69.6% - professional education, 11.3% - general secondary and secondary specialized education.
In marriages registered in January-December 2021, 16.6% of married women have higher education, 57.9% have professional education, the share of persons with general secondary and secondary specialized education accounted for 25.5 %.
In January-December 2021, 39.2 thousand divorces were registered, the divorce rate per 1000 population was 1.1 ppm, which is 0.3 ppm more compared to 2020 (in January-December 2020, this indicator was 0.8 ppm).
In 2021, 50.5% of all divorces in the country occurred in childless families, 28.4% of families were divorced with one child, 21.1% - with two or more children.
In January-December 2021 17,2 % of divorces were registered among men with higher education, among men with professional education 52.9% of divorces were recorded, 29.9% of divorced men had general secondary and secondary specialized education.
In January-December 2021, 13.3% of divorces were registered among women with higher education, 62.4% - with professional education, while 24.3% have general secondary and secondary specialized education.
In January-December 2021, the total number of arrivals in the country amounted to 256 814 people, including 254 939 people from other regions of the republic, and 1 875 people from abroad. The total number of those who left was 275 079 people, including 254 939 of them left for other regions, 20 140 people left for foreign countries, the net migration amounted to minus 18 265 people.
In January - December 2021, 256.8 thousand arrivals were registered, the migration rate per 1 000 inhabitants was 7.4 ppm and, compared with 2020, it increased by 1.8 ppm (in January - December 2020, this figure was 5.6 ppm).
In January-December 2021, 275.1 thousand people who left were registered, the migration rate per 1 000 people of the population was 7.9 ppm and, compared to 2020, it increased by 2.0 ppm (in January-December 2020 - 5.9 ppm).
The main part of the arrivals in the Republic of Uzbekistan falls on Kazakhstan (38.0% of the total number of arrivals), Tajikistan (18.5%), the Russian Federation (17.3%), Kyrgyzstan (7.0%), Turkmenistan (3.3 %) and other countries (15.9%).
The majority of those who left the Republic of Uzbekistan are those who left for Kazakhstan (56.6% of the total number of those who left), the Russian Federation (30.5%), Tajikistan (3.7%), Kyrgyzstan (2.3%), Ukraine (1.6%) and other countries (5.3%).
