Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, the total volume of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in Uzbekistan in January-December 2021 made up 317.78 trillion soums, including crop and livestock breeding, hunting and the provision of services in these areas – 307.51 trillion soums, forestry – 7.58 trillion soums, fisheries – 2.68 trillion soums, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
In the structure of GDP (GVA), the share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the period under review amounted to 26.9%. The contribution of this industry to GDP growth as a whole reached 1.1 p.p.
In January-December 2021, the growth rate of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, amounted to 4.0%, including in crop and livestock farming, hunting and the provision of services in these areas - 3.9%, forestry - 1.5%, fisheries - 21.4%.
According to preliminary data, in January-December 2021, positive growth rates in this industry were achieved due to the following types of products, which illustrated higher growth rates compared to the same period in 2020: meat (live weight) —4,8%, vegetables — 4,1%, potato — 4,7%, grapes — 5,5% and fish catch — 20,7%.
According to the results of January-December 2021, 96.8% of the total volume of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries fall on crop and livestock production, hunting and the services provided in these areas (in January-December 2020 it amounted to 96.7%), 2.4% - forestry (2.6%), 0.8% - fisheries (0.7%).
According to the results of January-December 2021, in the structure of gross domestic product (GDP) (gross value added (GVA)) the share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries amounted to 26.9%.
Analyzing this indicator by regions, it should be noted that a significant share belongs to Jizzakh region (53.4%), while a low share was traced in Navoi region (15.0%).
In January – December 2021, by region, significant volumes of agricultural, forestry and fisheries products (services) were recorded in Samarkand (41 206.1 billion soums), Andijan (32 030.4 billion soums) and Tashkent (30 712.7 billion soums) regions, while in Syrdarya region (10 512.0 billion soums), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (12 339.3 billion soums). soums) and Navoi region (15 224.5 billion soums) had low volumes.
Samarkand and Andijan regions in terms of the total volume of production (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries occupy a leading place in the republic, this is characterized by the fact that among the regions a significant share in the production of such agricultural products as milk, cereals, potatoes, vegetables, grapes, fruits and berries, belongs to these areas.
It should be noted that among the regions, a low share in the production of such agricultural products as meat, milk, eggs, potatoes, vegetables, grapes, fruits and berries was recorded in Syrdarya region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
High growth rates were observed in Samarkand (+4.6%), Surkhandarya (+4.6%), Namangan (+4.6%) and Andijan (+4.5%) regions. Compared to other regions, low growth rates were noted in Kashkadarya (+2.2%), Bukhara (+3.7%) and Ferghana (+3.7%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+3.7%).
The volume of agricultural production in January-December 2021 amounted to 302.52 trillion soums, or 3.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2020, including crop production reached 151.08 trillion soums (+3.1%), products livestock – 151.44 trillion soums (+4.1%).
Of the total volume of agricultural production of the republic, the largest share falls on Samarkand (12.9%), Andijan (10.2%) and Tashkent (9.5%) regions.
In the course of the analysis of agricultural production by regions, high growth rates were observed in Namangan (+4.4%), Surkhandarya (+4.3%) and Andijan (+4.2%) regions.
An analysis by category of farms showed that 65.9% of the total volume of agricultural production falls on dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 29.2% - on farms, 4.9% - on organizations engaged in agricultural activities.
In the course of analyzing the distribution of shares of gross agricultural output by categories of farms in the context of territories, it was noted that the highest rates in all regions fall on dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
The share of dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms in the production of the main types of agricultural products: milk — 93,8%, meat (in live weight) — 89,3%, potatoes — 74,7%, vegetables — 60,7% and eggs — 60,5%.
According to the results of January - December 2021, a significant share of farms in the total volume of agricultural production was noted in Samarkand region (38.0%), dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms of Navoi region (75.4%), and the share of organizations engaged in agricultural activities, was recorded in Tashkent region (12.1%).
The low share of farms in the total volume of agricultural production was noted in Tashkent region (16.9%), Dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms of Syrdarya region (55.1%), and the share of organizations engaged in agricultural activities belongs to Kashkadarya and Namangan regions (3.1%).
Of the total crop production of the republic, the largest share falls on Samarkand (14.0%), Andijan (12.6%), Ferghana (10.5%) and Bukhara (9.3%) regions.
Analyzing the growth rates of crop production by regions, it should be noted that high growth rates were noted in Namangan (+5.2%), Surkhandarya (+5.2%), Khorezm (+4.6%) and Samarkand (+4.5%) regions.
Thanks to the implementation of systematic measures to further increase production volumes and expand the range of food crops grown in the republic and, on this basis, to ensure the fullest satisfaction of the population’s needs for food products, in January - In December 2021, all categories of farms produced 7.54 million tons of grain (down by 1.2% compared to January-December 2020), 3.29 million tons of potatoes (up by 4.7%), 10,.86 million tons of vegetables (by 4.1%), 2.28 million tons of melons (by 6.9%), 2.85 million tons of fruits and berries (by 1.4%), 1.69 million tons of grapes (by 5.5%).
During the analysis of the structure of production of all grain crops in January - December 2021, it was noted that of the total volume of their production, the main part, or 81.9%, was cereal crops. In the structure of production of all grain crops, 6.9% fall on corn, 3.9% - on rice, 5.4% - on legumes and 1.9% - on other grains.
The largest volume of production of grain crops was noted in farms – 6.11 million tons, or 81.1% of their total production. The smallest volume was observed in organizations engaged in agricultural activities – 657,500 tons, or 8.7% of the total production volume.
Among the regions in the production of grain crops, the leading place is occupied by Samarkand region. Its share in the total volume of grain crops amounted to 11.0%. Along with this, a relatively high proportion was noted in Kashkadarya (10.6%), Ferghana (10.3%), Surkhandarya (9.3%), Jizzakh (9.2%) and Andijan (8.7%) regions.
The smallest share in the total volume was observed in Navoi region (3.3%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.6%). High growth rates were noted in Surkhandarya (103.7%), Tashkent (+3.5%), Bukhara (+3.0%), Ferghana (+2.9%) and Syrdarya (+2.0%) regions.
The largest volume of vegetable production was noted in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 6.58 million tons, or 60.7% of the total volume of their production. Compared to the same period in 2020, an increase was recorded in farms - by 8.0%, dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 1.2%, as well as in organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 22.1%.
The main share in the structure of vegetable production among the regions is occupied by Samarkand region, whose share is 16.1%. Also, the largest share was noted in Andijan (15.1%), Ferghana (10.9%), Surkhandarya (9.8%) and Tashkent (9.7%) regions. The smallest share was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Navoi region (2.8%). High growth rates were noted in Samarkand (106.9%), Namangan (106.5%), Surkhandarya (105.2%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (105.1%).
The largest volume of potato production was noted in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 2.46 million tons, or 74.7% of the total volume of its production. Compared to the same period in 2020, an increase was recorded in farms - by 20.4% and dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 0.8%.
Of the total volume of potatoes, a significant share falls on Samarkand region (20.4%). Also, the largest share was noted in Andijan (12.1%), Tashkent (11.6%), Surkhandarya (10.5%) and Ferghana (9.9%) regions. The smallest share in the total volume of potatoes was observed in Syrdarya (1.9%) and Navoi (2.5%) regions. In the current period, high growth rates were noted in Jizzakh (+10.1%), Samarkand (+7.4%), Andijan (+5.5%), Namangan (+5.4%) and Surkhandarya (+4.5%) regions.
The largest production volume of melons was noted in farms – 1.16 million tons, or 51.1% of their total production. Compared to the same period in 2020, an increase was recorded in farms - by 12.5%, dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 1.4% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 6.6%.
Of the total volume of melons, the largest share falls on the Surkhandarya region (14.1%). Along with this, a significant proportion was noted in Jizzakh (11.8%), Syrdarya (11.4%), Bukhara (8.0%), Andijan (7.8%) and Kashkadarya (7.8%) regions. At the same time, the smallest share in the total volume of melons was observed in Tashkent (2.4%) and Navoi (4.3%) regions. In the current period, high growth rates were noted in Namangan (+31.3%), Samarkand (+15.0%), Ferghana (+14.5%), Khorezm (+9.5%), Kashkadarya (+8.5%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+8.0%).
The largest volume of production of fruits and berries was noted in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 1 567.4 thousand tons, or 54.9% of the total volume of their production. Compared to the same period in 2020, an increase in farms was recorded - by 5.5%.
Compared with other regions, Andijan region accounts for the largest share of the total volume of fruits and berries (23.0%). Also, a significant proportion was noted in Ferghana (13.0%), Samarkand (12.6%), Namangan (10.4%) and Bukhara (9.2%) regions. At the same time, the smallest share in the total volume of fruits and berries was observed in Syrdarya region (1.5%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (2.2%). During this period, high growth rates were noted in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+6.9%), Syrdarya (+5.7%), Kashkadarya (+5.6%), Surkhandarya (+4.9%) and Namangan (+4.8%) regions.
The largest volume of grape production was noted in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - 920.9 thousand tons, or 54.3% of the total volume of its production. Compared to the same period in 2020, an increase was recorded in farms - by 10.7%, dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 1.6% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 6.8%.
Almost a third of the total volume of grapes falls on Samarkand region (35.5%). Also, the largest share was noted in Bukhara (12.1%), Ferghana (10.6%), Namangan (8.1%) and Surkhandarya (6.1%) regions. At the same time, the smallest share in the total volume of grapes was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (0.7%) and Syrdarya region (0.8%). In relation to 2020, high growth rates among the regions were noted in Kashkadarya (+10.2%), Samarkand (+8.4%), Surkhandarya (+7.1%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+6.2%).
Of the total livestock production of the republic, the largest share falls on Samarkand (11.8%), Kashkadarya (11.4%), Tashkent (10.2%) and Bukhara (9.5%) regions.
Analyzing the growth rates of livestock production by regions, it should be noted that high growth rates were recorded in Andijan (+6.3%), Tashkent (+6.1%), Jizzakh (+5.3%) and Bukhara (+4.5%) regions.
The consistent implementation of measures to further increase the potential of the livestock industry, as well as the systemic state support provided, contributed to the growth in the number of livestock and the saturation of the domestic consumer market with livestock products. In January-December 2021, all categories of farms produced 2.64 million tons of meat in live weight (4.8% more compared to January-December 2020), 11.28 million tons of milk (by 2.8%), 8.05 billion eggs (by 3.5%), 173,866 tons of fish were caught (by 20.7%).
Based on the results of the analysis of meat production by categories of farms in January-December 2021, it should be noted that the largest volume of meat was noted in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 2.35 million tons, or 89.3% of the total volume of its production. During the specified period, the smallest volume of meat production was observed in organizations engaged in agricultural activities – 134,000 tons, or 5.1% of the total volume of its production. Compared to the same period in 2020, its increase was recorded in farms - by 32.8%, dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 2.4% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 28.0%.
Of the total volume of meat, a significant share falls on Kashkadarya region (11.8%). Also, the largest share was noted in Samarkand (11.6%), Tashkent (10.5%), Bukhara (10.4%), Jizzakh (8.6%) and Surkhandarya (7.6%) regions. The smallest share in the total volume of meat was observed in Syrdarya region (2.6%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (4.4%). In January - December 2021, high growth rates were noted in Andijan (+13.5%), Samarkand (+6.7%), Namangan (+4.7%), Tashkent (+4.6%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+4.5%).
Among the categories of farms, the largest volume of milk production was noted in dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 10.59 million tons, or 93.8% of the total volume of its production. According to the results of January - December 2021, the smallest volume was observed in organizations engaged in agricultural activities - 108.6 thousand tons, or 1.0% of the total production volume. In relation to 2020, growth for the specified period was recorded in farms - by 13.1%, dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 2.1% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 27.9%.
In the territorial context, a significant share of the total volume of milk falls on Samarkand region (11.8%). Along with this, the largest share was noted in Kashkadarya (11.1%), Khorezm (9.5%), Ferghana (9.5%), Bukhara (9.0%), Andijan (8.8%) and Tashkent (8.6%) areas. At the same time, the smallest share in the total volume of milk was observed in Syrdarya region (3.3%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.7%). Compared to other categories of farms, the largest volume of egg production was noted in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 4.87 billion eggs, or 60.5% of their total production. In January-December 2021, the smallest volume of egg production was observed in farms – 1.2 billion eggs, or 15.0% of the total production. In relation to 2020, growth was recorded in farms - by 14.8%, dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 1.2% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 3.1%.
Most of the structure of egg production among the regions is occupied by Tashkent region, whose share is 18.0%. Also, the largest share was noted in Samarkand (16.7%), Andijan (9.0%), Namangan (7.9%), Ferghana (6.9%) and Surkhandarya (6.5%) regions. At the same time, the smallest share in the total volume of eggs was observed in Syrdarya region (2.3%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (4.4%). In relation to 2020, high growth rates were noted in Jizzakh (+23.6%), Syrdarya (+10.0%), Bukhara (+6.8%), Samarkand (+6.4%) and Khorezm (+4.8%) regions.
In the course of the analysis of fish catch indicators by categories of farms, it was revealed that the main part of its catch was noted in organizations engaged in agricultural activities – 82 193 tons, or 47.3% of the total catch. According to the results of January-December 2021, the smallest volume was observed in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms – 10 091 tons, or 5.8% of the total catch. In relation to 2020, growth was observed in farms - by 38.0%, dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - 3.1% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 9.3%. engaged in agricultural activities - by 9.3%.
Among the regions, the largest share of the total volume of fish caught falls on Khorezm region (17.9%). Along with this, the largest share was noted in Samarkand (12.6%), Andijan (10.2%) regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (8.3%), Navoi (7.8%) and Jizzakh (7.5%) regions. At the same time, the smallest share in the total volume of fish caught was observed in Surkhandarya (2.9%), Syrdarya (3.4%) and Kashkadarya (3.7%) regions. High growth rates were noted in Samarkand (+72.7%), Bukhara (+61.3%), Khorezm (+43.0%), Namangan (+8.0%), Kashkadarya (+19.5%) and Surkhandarya (+10.7%) regions.
Analyzing the data on the number of cattle by category of farms as of 1 January 2022, it should be noted that 6.5% of cattle fall on farms, 92.0% - on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 1.5% - on organizations engaged in agricultural activities, respectively, of the total number of sheep and goats on farms account for 14.2%, on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms - 79.9%, on organizations engaged in agricultural activities, – 5.9%, respectively, of the total number of horses, 22.5% fall on farms, 73.1% on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 4.4% on organizations engaged in agricultural activities, as well as 17.0% of the total number of birds on farms, 57.7% on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 25.3% on organizations engaged in agricultural activities.
As of 1 January 2022 in all categories of farms: - the total number of cattle reached 13 555.8 thousand heads; - compared to the same period in 2021, the number of cattle increased by 401.5 thousand heads (by 3.1%); - 92.0% of cattle fall on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
Of the total number of cattle, the largest share falls on Kashkadarya (12.4%) region. Also, the largest share was noted in Samarkand (12.2%), Bukhara (9.5%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (8.7%). Along with this, the smallest share in the total number of cattle was observed in Syrdarya (3.5%) and Navoi (3.9%) regions. Compared to other regions, high growth rates were noted in Syrdarya (+4.3%), Samarkand (+3.7%), Andijan (+3.5%) Tashkent (+3.4%) and Kashkadarya (+3.3%) regions.
As of 1 January 2022 in all categories of farms: - the total number of cows reached 4 866.1 thousand heads; - compared to the same period in 2021, the number of cows increased by 136.7 thousand heads (by 2.9%); - 91.9% of cows fall on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
Among the regions, the largest share of the total number of cows falls on Samarkand region (14.9%). Also, the largest share was noted in Kashkadarya (11.3%), Bukhara (8.7%), Tashkent (8.5%) and Surkhandarya (8.2%) regions. At the same time, a low share in the total number of cows was observed in the Syrdarya (3.5%) and Navoi (4.4%) regions. Compared with other regions, high growth rates were noted in Andijan (10+3.6%), Bukhara (+3.5%), Namangan (+3.4%), Ferghana (+3.3%), Samarkand (+3.2%), Syrdarya (+3.2%) and Kashkadarya (+3.2%) regions.
As of 1 January 2022, in all categories of farms: - the total number of sheep and goats reached 23 074.3 thousand heads; - compared to the same period in 2021, the number of sheep and goats increased by 615.5 thousand heads (by 2.7%); - 79.9% of sheep and goats fall on dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms.

As of 1 January 2022 in all categories of farms: - the number of horses reached 260.7 thousand heads; - compared to the same period in 2021, the number of horses increased by 7.1 thousand heads (by 2.8%); - 73.1% of horses are owned by dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
Among the regions of the republic, a significant share of the total number of horses falls on Tashkent (21.4%) region. Along with this, the largest share was noted in Kashkadarya (13.2%), Samarkand (10.8%) and Jizzakh (10.6%) regions. The smallest share in the total number of horses was observed in Khorezm (2.2%), Namangan (2.6%), Bukhara (2.6%) and Andijan (2.7%) regions. Compared to other regions, high growth rates were noted in Bukhara (+2.0%), Navoi (+7.4%), Syrdarya (+4.9%), Surkhandarya (+4.6%) and Andijan (+4.5%) regions.
As of 1 January 2022 in all categories of farms: - the total number of birds has reached 89 734.4 thousand heads; - compared to the same period in 2021, the number of birds increased by 144.7 thousand heads (by 0.2%); - 57.7% of birds fall on dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms.
Of the total number of birds, the largest share falls on Tashkent (17.3%) region. Also, the largest share was noted in Samarkand (15.1%), Ferghana (9.6%), Andijan (9.6%) and Kashkadarya (6.9%) regions. The smallest share in the total number of birds was observed in Syrdarya (3.4%) and Navoi (3.6%) regions. Compared to other regions, high growth rates were noted in Syrdarya (+19.0%), Surkhandarya (+3.6%), Navoi (+3.0%), Bukhara (+2.5%), Samarkand (+2.5%) and Andijan (+2.4%) regions.
