Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Due to the aggravation of the pandemic situation in our country, the next meeting of the Kengash of the Senate was held online. It was conducted by the Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva.
At the meeting, a resolution was adopted to convene the twenty-third plenary session of the Senate on 3 February 2022. At the next plenary session, it is planned to consider a number of issues.
In particular, the laws “On geographical indications”, “On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On amendments and amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the state of emergency” and “On the introduction of amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the strengthening of the protection of objects of material cultural heritage” will be discussed.
The agenda also includes laws “On the introduction of amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the further strengthening of guarantees of rights Citizens and Business Entities”, “On Amendments and Additions to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility”.
In addition, the senators will consider the laws “On the ratification of the International Labor Organization Convention No. 167 on safety and health in construction (Geneva, on 20 June 1988)” and “On the ratification of the Agreement on Cooperation of the CIS Member States to Prevent and Suppress the Use of False Trademarks and geographical indications (Minsk, on 28 May 2021)”.
It is also planned to hear a report from the Cabinet of Ministers on the implementation of the State Program for the implementation of the Action Strategy in 2017-2021 in the Year of Supporting Youth and Improving the Health of the Population, information from the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Ganiev on the introduction of water-saving technologies in agriculture and the efficiency of using funds allocated for these purposes, as well as information from the Minister of Justice on the state of the rule-making activities and law enforcement practice of state bodies and organizations in 2021.
The plenary session will also discuss the issues of sending parliamentary inquiries to the Cabinet of Ministers on the state of ensuring the safety of vehicles equipped with gas cylinders in the country and the implementation of legislation in this area, as well as on the development of national content for youth and minors on the Internet, the culture of their use of social networks and protection from harmful information.
The senators will also consider the results of a parliamentary inquiry sent to the government on the impact on the environment and public health of problems and deficiencies arising at sewage treatment plants.
At the same time, the report of the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on the establishment of the Commission of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea will be heard.
The plenary session will be held online for two days.
