Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, in January December 2021, the highest average monthly salary by type of economic activity was recorded in banking, insurance, leasing and credit intermediary activities (8.29 million soums), which is significantly higher than in other areas of activity, in particular in the field of information and communication (5.57 million soums), transportation and storage (4.33 million soums), education (2.31 million soums).
The lowest average salary was in the field of healthcare and the provision of social services (2.15 million soums).
The highest average monthly salary in industry is observed in Navoi region (5.93 million soums), the lowest in Namangan region (2.22 million soums). For comparison: in the same period of 2020, the highest rate was noted in Navoi region (4.9 million soums) and relatively low in Namangan region (2.2 million soums).
The dynamics of the average monthly wage in 2017-2021 shows that its largest amount was recorded in 2021. At the same time, one cannot ignore the fact that throughout 2021 the minimum wage was increased twice (from 1 February and 1 September 2021).
The highest average monthly salary in the construction sector was recorded in Navoi region (4.8 million soums), the lowest - in Ferghana region (2.2 million soums). In the city of Tashkent (4.08 million soums), Tashkent (4.57 million soums) and Navoi (4.8 million soums) regions, it was higher than the national average.
The highest average monthly salary in trade was in the city of Tashkent (3.79 million soums), the lowest - in Ferghana region (1.8 million soums). It is noteworthy that only in Tashkent this figure is higher than the national average (3.23 million soums), while in other regions it is relatively low.
The highest average monthly salary by type of economic activity in the field of transportation and storage was observed in the city of Tashkent (5.17 million soums), the lowest - in Syrdarya region (1.74 million soums). The average monthly salary in Bukhara (4.7 million soums), Khorezm (4.75 million soums) regions and the city of Tashkent (5.17 million soums) was higher than the national average (4.33 million soums), while in other regions this figure was relatively low.
The highest average monthly salary in the field of information and communication was observed in the city of Tashkent (6.85 million soums), the lowest - in Andijan region (2.82 million soums). The average monthly wage in this area across the country is higher only in Tashkent, while in all other regions the average monthly wage in the field of information and communication is less than 5.57 million soums.
The highest average salary in banking, insurance, leasing and credit-intermediary activities was in the city of Tashkent (10.97 million soums), the lowest - in Surkhandarya region (5.48 million soums).
The highest average monthly salary in the field of education was noted in the city of Tashkent (3,477.9 thousand soums), the lowest - in Kashkadarya region (2,053.4 thousand soums). Wages were higher than the national average in Tashkent (UZS 2,318.8 thousand), Syrdarya (UZS 2,366.4 thousand) regions and Tashkent city (UZS 3,477.9 thousand). In other regions, there is a relatively low average monthly wage.
The highest average monthly salary in the field of healthcare and the provision of social services was in the Tashkent region (2.63 million soums), the lowest - in Kashkadarya region (1.77 million soums). Below the national average, it was observed in seven regions.
If you look at the growth of the average monthly nominal wage in the country in January-December 2021 compared to the corresponding period of 2020, then the highest growth rates were recorded in Surkhandarya region - 30.3%, Tashkent city (23.1%) and Kashkadarya regions (22.1%). Relatively low growth rates were noted in Andijan - 15.0% and Navoi - 15.8% regions. On a monthly basis, the average monthly nominal wage increased throughout the year, reaching a maximum level in December – 3.78 million soums. At the same time, the lowest figure for the year was in January – 2.66 million soums.
It is noted that relatively low-employed types of economic activity with relatively high average wages, for example, in banking, insurance, leasing and credit intermediary activities - 2.2% of the total number of employees, in the field of information and communications - 1.2%, while a relatively high proportion of workers will be recorded in areas with low average wages - health care and the provision of social services (16.2%), as well as in education - 37.6%.
During 2021, changes were made to the minimum wage twice: on 1 February and 1 September, when it was brought to the level of 822,000 soums.
In January - December 2021, the average monthly nominal accrued wages of employees of enterprises and organizations with the status of legal entities, without small businesses and agriculture, varied from one type of economic activity to another.
It includes allowances, remuneration, incentive payments, compensatory payments and pay for hours not worked, as well as withholding personal income tax and contributions to the union fund.
