Murodjon Akhmadaliev easily defends his world title
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Manchester (New Hampshire, USA), as part of a boxing evening at SNHU Arena, a fight in the second bantamweight took place between the reigning IBF and WBA Super world champion, Murojon Akhmadaliev from Uzbekistan and Chilean challenger Jose Velasquez.
From the first round, Akhmadaliev tried to “endure” his opponent, but the Chilean turned out to be stronger than expected and managed to hold out until the final bell. At the end of 12 rounds, the judges gave the victory to Murojon by unanimous decision.
Thus, while not knowing defeats as a pro, Akhmadaliev recorded his tenth victory (7 KOs) and successfully defended his titles. His opponent lost for the seventh time with 29 wins (19 by knockouts) and two draws.
Murodjon Akhmadaliev is the first world champion among professionals in the history of Uzbekistan.
