Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 25 October 2021, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis met with a member of the Senate Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Social and Cultural Development and Science, a member of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Mission Akmaral Alnazarova.
During the meeting, the improvement of the electoral process in Uzbekistan was noted, in particular, the important political event that took place the day before - the presidential elections were held at a high level, the voting process fully complies with international standards.
According to Akmaral Alnazarova, there was a high voter turnout, which indicates a good organization of the election campaign in Uzbekistan. And the participation in the electoral process of a large number of observers from foreign countries and a number of international organizations is a confirmation of the great interest and attention of the world community to Uzbekistan.
As the head of the upper chamber of the parliament of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva noted, elections play an important role in determining the country's prospects and its development.
At the meeting held in the spirit of constructive dialogue and mutual trust, issues of expanding inter-parliamentary, trade and economic cooperation, as well as the implementation of projects within the framework of ensuring the Sustainable Development Goals were discussed. In addition, they spoke about strengthening the partnership between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to ensure gender equality, including within the framework of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia.
The parties exchanged views on ways to achieve gender equality, the role of the mahalla institution, which is an important link in preserving the best values and strengthening the family.
In this context, areas of further cooperation in the field of achieving gender equality, comprehensive support for women, and the implementation of investment projects for women were discussed.
The parties also considered other issues of mutual interest.
