President of Uzbekistan to take part in the events of the anniversary SCO summit in Dushanbe
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16-17 September, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the events of the anniversary meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will be held in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan - the city of Dushanbe.
The summit, chaired by the Tajik side, envisages the participation of the leaders of the SCO member states - the Republic of India, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Russian Federation.
Observer states to the Organization will be represented by the Presidents of the Republic of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mongolia. The head of Turkmenistan was invited as an honored guest of the meeting.
The event will also be attended by the heads of the executive bodies of the SCO and other international institutions.
In accordance with the agenda, the participants will consider the main results of the SCO's activities over the past 20 years, discuss the urgent tasks of multilateral cooperation. There will also be an exchange of views on global politics and the regional agenda.
It is envisaged that at the end of the summit the Dushanbe Declaration will be adopted, decisions of the heads of state and other multilateral documents on expanding multifaceted cooperation within the framework of the Organization will be signed. An important event will be the transfer of the chairmanship of the SCO to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In addition, the program of the President of our country includes a number of bilateral negotiations with the heads of partner states, as well as participation in a meeting in the SCO-CSTO format on the situation in Afghanistan.
