Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov held a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, Dunyo news agency reported.
The parties discussed cooperation in the field of education, from preschool to higher education, in particular, possible aspects of assisting Uzbekistan in teaching the Japanese language were discussed, including by sending relevant specialists, educational materials, providing Uzbek educational institutions with access to databases, curricula of Japanese universities, STEAM education development.
In addition, the prospects of opening schools (preschool, primary and secondary) according to Japanese standards in Uzbekistan were considered.
Education Minister Hagiudoi Koichi proposed to consider the issue of opening Japanese-standard technology colleges (in Japanese "kosen") - educational institutions specializing in technical specialties (engineering, information technology and others), where students study after graduating from junior high school.
During the conversation, he also emphasized the historical significance for bilateral relations of contacts at the highest level, primarily the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Japan in December 2019 and the telephone conversation of the Uzbek leader with Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga in May.
