Uzbekistan to host European Mobility Week for the third time

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 16 to 22 September, the Delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan jointly with the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Khokimiat of Tashkent, Toshshahartranskhizmat JSC, the Tashkent Runners jogging club and the Cycling Community of Uzbekistan will launch the European Mobility Week for the third time -2021 (ЕНМ) in Uzbekistan.
The global theme for European Mobility Week 2021 is Health and Safety with Sustainable Mobility, reflecting the support of urban residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Uzbekistan, the Week will be held under the motto “Love your city! Drive steadily! Stay Healthy!” to raise awareness among urban residents about the benefits of sustainable urban mobility and healthy lifestyles.
Within the framework of the European Mobility Week-2021, a series of events is expected in Uzbekistan:
6 September 2021 - the exhibition "I love my city: a creative approach to sustainable urban mobility", which will mark the start of ENM-2021 will open in the Central Park of Tashkent named after Mirzo Ulugbek. The exhibition is also complemented by thematic paintings by other young artists presented by the founders of the G’uncha Art Space community. Residents and guests of the capital can visit the exhibition until 22 September.
On 16 September, the 7-day challenge starts on Facebook and Instagram. The organizers urge residents of the country to make their choice in favor of health, mobility and a clean environment - walking, running, abandoning a car and switching to a bicycle or other environmentally friendly transport. To participate, it is necessary to publish a photo in a story with a heart on social networks, as well as mark the page of the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan.
3. The Tashkent Runners jogging club will hold two "Mobility Actions" - plogging (plogging - a run with garbage collection) near Tashkent canals:
i. on 16 September 2021 (on the day of the start of the ENM-2021) - along the Ankhor River;
ii on 21 September 2021 - along River Park.
4. An important theme of the Mobility Week is road safety. Starting from 13 September, Uzbekistan is launching a special information campaign on LED-screens of the country’s streets for drivers with an emphasis on road safety rules and the importance of observing the speed limit.
